The Craig Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new board member to fill the seat of Jim Herschberg. If interested contact Chamber director Christina Oxley at director@craig-ch... or call 824-5689. Must be a chamber member.

The Craig Chamber of Commerce board will soon begin looking for a new member.

Jim Herschberg, the chamber’s president, recently stepped down from the board for personal reasons, Chamber director Christina Oxley said.

“I was really looking forward to working with the Chamber with Jim at the helm because he brings such a different perspective,” Oxley said. “It was a great connection, a great perspective. So, we’re really sorry to see him go, but your family is the number one priority.”

His resignation leaves an opening for both the board position and the president position.

In the short-term, the board’s vice president, Mardi Anson, will assume Herschberg’s duties as president, Oxley said.

At the March 10 meeting, the board will elect a new president and will likely form a nomination committee to fill the open position on the board, she said.

The committee will seek out, evaluate and recommend potential board members. The board will then appoint someone to the seat.

None of the Chamber’s upcoming events will be affected by Herschberg’s resignation.

“We can function without a president, easily,” Oxley said. “It’s certainly not ideal but it certainly doesn’t stop anything that we’re doing.

Oxley said that in the future, the chamber will be open to having Herschberg back.

“We hope down the road he’ll come back and finish out with the Chamber and work with us again, but for now we support him 100 percent in the priorities that he’s set”
