The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team’s playoff game against Erie High School is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Longmont High School, 1040 Sunset St.
Tip-off time was unknown when the playoff pairings were announced Sunday.
The 17th-seeded Bulldogs and 16th-seeded Tigers are competing in the first round of the 4A state girls basketball tournament in the Lou Piel Region.
Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for students.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season 16-7 overall and 10-2 in the Western Slope League.
The team’s victory of rival Steamboat Springs on Feb. 18 gave the Bulldogs a share of the WSL title with Glenwood Springs and Delta.
MCHS will be led by senior post player Lauren Roberts and junior point guard Melissa Camilletti, who average 11 points per game each.
Erie boasts an 18-5 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the Tri-Valley League.
Tigers senior guard Dallas Rohrbaugh averages around 14 points per game, and leads the offensive attack.
If the Bulldogs beat Erie, they will play either No. 1 Longmont High School (22-1) or No. 32 Windsor (12-11) at 5 p.m. Saturday, also at Longmont, in the Sweet 16 round.
