It’s time again for lovebirds to swoon and single people to roll their eyes.

This week brings Valentine’s Day and all the chocolate-eating, flower-giving and love-expressing madness that comes with it.

So soak it up. Or, avoid it all costs. The decision is yours.

■ Valentine’s Day is on Monday, so what better way to show your love than with art and chocolate?

The annual Art Walk and Taste of Chocolate offer couples a happy excuse to cuddle in the cold.

The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Craig.

Check out the work of local artists at various businesses downtown for free. And, pop into the Museum of Northwest Colorado to buy a mug or bowl and some warming soup from the Colorado Northwestern Community College ceramics students.

Splurge by sampling treats made by local bakers in the Taste of Chocolate for a $10 ticket.

You get to vote on your favorites and take home any extras you can’t quite finish.

Get your tickets ahead of time from The Kitchen Shop, 577 Yampa Ave., 824-8148.

■ Feast on crab and prime rib at the Wyman Museum’s third annual fundraising Romantic Dinner 6 p.m. Monday at the mu-

seum, 94350 E. U.S. Highway 40.

It’s a neat way to woo your honey with a performance by a Moffat County High School jazz band quartet and sleigh rides following dinner.

The cost is $50 per person. Call the museum at 824-6346 to get tickets.

■ Shake off the love bugs by jamming with Taylors Bayou from 9 p.m. to close Friday and Saturday at the Sports Page Bar at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

Kick back or kick up your heels to some familiar covers while not paying one.

■ Break through the winter blues with a yard sale at the Elks Lodge this weekend.

The fundraising sale begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the lodge, 43 W. Victory Way. Get a table for $10 to sell your wares, or get ready to shop.

The lodge will also host a lunch including a hot beef sandwich, mashed potatoes, salad, dessert and a drink at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Call 620-0874 to get a table.

■ Have a drink and gain some knowledge.

Yampa Valley Partners and TLC Carpet One host the 5:05 Drinks Program at 5:05 p.m. Thursday at the Golden Cavvy Restaurant, 538 Yampa Ave.

Learn some energy efficiency tips from Jim Chappell of Yampa Valley Electric Association and get a free light bulb.

Call Kate Nowak at 824-1133 to learn more.

■ Bingo is on this weekend at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265.

Head down from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the VFW, 419 E. Victory Way.

A full game package is $15, and the kitchen will be open.

■ West Theatre has two distinct choices in this week with “The Mechanic” and “Gnomeo & Juliet,” both beginning Friday.

Redbox now has “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” “The Romantics” and “He’s Just Not That Into You” out new this week. If you’re looking for something to take your mind off the holiday, check out “Middle Men” and “Paranormal Activity 2,” also now at Redbox.
