Briefs for Feb. 9, 2011: Elsk Lodge hosting weekend sale

The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, will host a lunch and indoor yard sale this weekend.

The yard sale begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and those looking to sell items can rent a table for $10.

The lunch is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday.

The menu includes a hot beef sandwich, mashed potatoes, salad, dessert and a drink.

The cost is $8 per person, or $15 for a couple. Meals for children under 9 cost $4 each and children under 3 eat for free.

Proceeds from the event go to local youth and veterans.

Partners hosts 5:05 Drinks on Thursday

Yampa Valley Partners and TLC Carpet One hosts the 5:05 Drinks Program at 5:05 p.m. Thursday at the Golden Cavvy Restaurant, 538 Yampa Ave.

Jim Chappell, of Yampa Valley Electric Association, will present from 5:30 to 6 p.m. about energy efficiency, and distribute free light bulbs, energy guides and newsletters.

The program is free and open to the public.

‘Swan Thieves’ up next for book club

The Craig Book Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 657 Green St.

Club member Bonnie Thompson will review Elizabeth Kostova’s “The Swan Thieves.” The hostess will be Susie Begam-Violette.

EDP offering free class at courthouse

The Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership is hosting its monthly “How to Start a Business 101” seminar Thursday.

The class is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.
