Janet Mortimer Eberle turning 100

Janet Mortimer Eberle, a former long-time Craig resident, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at her home in Fort Morgan.

Raised on a homestead near Craig, Janet graduated from high school in Craig and went on to receive her teaching degree.

She taught local schools before her marriage to Ernest Eberle in 1938. They raised two sons, Mike and Jim.



Janet served the Moffat County community in many ways, including as a school board member, election clerk, 4-H leader, hospital volunteer, and board member and volunteer at the Museum of Northwest Colorado.

She served as the superintendent of schools and worked in the clerk and recorder’s office until her retirement in 1981.



There will be a party in her honor on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, in Fort Morgan.
