The Bulldogs play the reserves in the fourth quarter, and finish off Eagle Valley, 67-13. Murray led the Bulldogs offensively with 14 points, and senior Lauren Roberts added 13 points.
Strong defense is leading the way for MCHS as the Bulldogs are blowing out Eagle Valley, 44-6, at the end of the third quarter. The Bulldogs didn't allow a basket until a minute left in the frame.
The Devils once again score the first bucket of the quarter, only to be shut down for the remainder as the Bulldogs lead, 27-4, at halftime. Murray leads the Bulldogs with 11 points through two quarters.
The Devils score the first points of the game, and the Bulldogs score the next 15. They lead, 15-2, at the end of the first quarter. MCHS sophomore Sassy Murray led the Bulldogs with six points in the quarter.
Hoping to keep momentum alive, the Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team will battle with Western Slope League opponent Eagle Valley High School tonight.
The game is slated to start at 6 p.m. at MCHS, 900 Finley Lane.
After dropping their first WSL game to Glenwood Springs by two points Jan. 8, the Bulldogs (11-6 overall, 5-1 WSL) have won five consecutive WSL games.
MCHS overcame a slow start to top the Devils (5-12 overall, 2-6 WSL) 43-31 on Jan. 14.
Head coach Matt Ray said he would like for his team to shut down the post against Eagle Valley.
