Briefs for Dec. 14, 2011: Daily Press a drop-off for Santa letters

Santa Claus has asked the Craig Daily Press to help him gather Christmas letters. Bring your letter, which should include your first name and age, to the newspaper at 466 Yampa Ave.

The letters will be printed in the Dec. 24 issue of the Saturday Morning Press and will be accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 23.

ILC open house postponed

An open house at the Independent Life Center, 483 Yampa Ave., has been postponed, the agency reported in a news release.

The event was initially scheduled for Friday but has been pushed back until after the New Year. A new date for the event has yet to be set.

The ILC also has new office hours. The agency will now be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

The van schedule is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays for Craig activities, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays for Steamboat Springs activities, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays for Hayden activities. Appointments should be made the previous day by 1 p.m.

Drop-in flu clinic set for Thursday

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering a drop-in flu clinic from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at its Craig office, 745 Russell St.

Flu shots and flu mist vaccinations for children cost $14 or less. Adult flu shots and flu mist vaccinations cost $16.

A variety of payment methods will be accepted.

Patients who pay for the vaccinations using commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or CHP+ must bring their cards with them. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
