To the editor:
I was disappointed to find absolutely nothing in the Dec. 7 Craig Daily Press about the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
I was told the newspaper was going to run something about it, but it just didn’t happen, and they deal more with local issues.
What happened Dec. 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor is part of American history and something we should never forget.
Clearly the Craig Daily Press felt it more important to give us the history of the assistant district attorney, his background, and his many accomplishments, rather than mention the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Surely the article on the prosecutor could have waited one day, and I have no problem with the article itself.
When I asked if any kind of apology would be issued in the paper for not mentioning anything about the attack, I was told no.
Well, it’s their paper and they can run it anyway they want, but I believe it speaks volumes about them, and maybe it’s best they stick with what they try to know best — local ball scores and what street might be paved — just local, very local news.
