Senior Spotlight for Aug. 22, 2011

Sunset Meadows recently hosted its annual Nifty Nineties celebration honoring residents here at Sunset Meadows I and II.

Chloe Peterson, at 100 years old, was included on the list.

Family and friends of honorees were invited, and the turnout was great. A great time was had by all.

I hope you all got out and enjoyed the balloon events at Loudy-Simpson Park and around the area this weekend.

Summer events are coming to a close and fall is closing in. Remember, school will be starting soon, so start paying closer attention to school zones and you won’t be surprised when it begins.

Speaking of surprises, we have birthdays this week for Mary Deathridge, Charles Terry, Judith Heflin and Rose Gomez.

Get well/speedy recovery wishes go out to Larry Keller, Phyllis Varela, Ron Moran, Dolores St. Louis and Coleen Baurer.

This week’s potluck is scheduled for noon Friday at Sunset Meadows I, and the senior breakfast is set for Wednesday at McDonalds. There are good eats at both, so don’t forget.

Call me with any news or events at 824-2139. I’m always glad to hear from people.

Thanks.
