The Humane Society of Moffat County will host public voting, by donation, for the 2012 Pet Mates Calendar from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Farmer's Market at Alice Pleasant Park in downtown Craig.

Horizons offers free developmental screenings

Horizons Specialized Services, 439 Breeze St., is offering free developmental screenings for children from birth to age 3.

The screenings will address questions about when children should be walking and speaking as well as concerns about hearing and vision.

Next Chamber mixer scheduled for Aug. 11

The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors host the next Business After-Hours Mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at 4295 U.S. Highway 40.

Northwest Storage, Ensignal, Rhino’s Deli and Grand Futures Prevention Coalition host the event. It’s free and open to the public.

5:05 Drinks to focus on recycling

The next 5:05 Drinks program, hosted by Yampa Valley Partners, will feature a presentation on recycling.

Emilie Rogers of Yampa Valley Recycles will inform attendees what to recycle and why.

The program runs from 5:05 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the O.P. Bar & Grill, 534 E. Victory Way.

Area producers eligible for emergency loans

Moffat, Routt, Jackson and Larimer counties have been designated as contiguous counties to disaster area in Wyoming due to losses caused by sever storms, flooding and landslides between May 18 and July 8.

Producers in these counties could be eligible for Farm Service Agency low-interest emergency loans, available to operators of family farms and ranches who are unable to obtain credit elsewhere. Loans are based on production losses caused by the disaster.

Producers must file an application for an emergency loan by March 22, 2012.

Humane Society to meet Monday

The next Humane Society of Moffat County meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Golden Cavvy Restaurant, 538 Yampa Ave.

MCHS Class of ’61 schedules reunion

The Moffat County High School Class of 1961 will celebrate its 50th reunion next month.

The reunion is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave.

Anyone is welcome.

Fuller Center to host yard sale

The Fuller Center for Housing will host a fundraising yard sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at 836 W. Victory Way, the barn next to Brass Key Realty.

The sale will benefit the center’s demolition project on Yampa Avenue.

Donations, except for clothing, are accepted through 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Brass Key Realty.

Hens and Chicks will not meet this month

The Yampa Valley Hens and Chicks, a local chapter of the Farmgirl Sisterhood, will not be meeting in August due to participation in the Moffat County Fair.

The Hens and Chicks will meet next in September for a presentation about canning.
