Briefs for April 22, 2011: Sandrock Ridge to host Easter events

Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehab, 943 W. Eighth Dr., invites the community to join two Easter events.

At 7 a.m. Sunday, the facility hosts an Easter sunrise service by the Rev. Ginger Taylor of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

At 2 p.m., children up to age 12 are invited to participate in an outdoor Easter egg hunt. Bring a basket.

Churches to host Stations of the Cross

Friendship United Methodist Church, 700 Barclay St., will host a Good Friday worship service at 7 p.m. today. A Stations of the Cross Interfaith Service will take place with Lutheran Church of Grace, the congregational church, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Easter Sunrise Service takes place at 7 a.m. Sunday. A breakfast will follow.

Easter worship celebration begins at 9 a.m.

All are welcome.

Church moving Easter services

The Christian Church of the New Testament will relocate from the American Legion Post 62 to The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave., for Easter Sunday service. The service begins at 10 a.m. and all are welcome.

Candy race begins at 1 p.m. Saturday

The Craig Lions Club’s annual candy race is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the north end of Craig City Park. The event is free for youths younger than age 12. For more information, call 824-3095.

AARP meeting Monday afternoon

Craig AARP Chapter No. 1418 will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. The program will be presented by Evelyn Tileston of the Independent Life Center.
