The Craig Daily Press is seeking nominations for its 2010-11 Teacher of the Year.
This is the sixth year the Daily Press will honor an area teacher for his or her commitment to students and for encouraging them to think outside the box.
Past recipients are Amy Pottinger, Rosie Crosthwaite, Sylvia Duncan, Deb Frazier and John Bolton.

Reading council presents free family concert
Sagebrush Reading Council presents a free family concert today.
The show features musician, songwriter and educator John Farrell from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Craig Middle School auditorium, 915 Yampa Ave.

TMH hosting blood drive today
The Memorial Hospital, 750 Hospital Loop, will host a blood drive from 12:30 to 6 p.m. today.
The hospital cautions anyone donating to eat a full meal and drink a good amount of water beforehand.

Dine out for CASA
A portion of proceeds from the Golden Cavvy, Carelli’s, Casa Loya, Wendy’s and Pizza Hut tonight and April 26 will be donated to Moffat County Court Appointed Special Advocates, a local volunteer organization that guides children through the court system.
CASA encourages community members to dine at one of the establishments to help support the group.
Fuller Center work day cancelled
The Moffat County Fuller Center for Housing has cancelled Saturday’s scheduled volunteer work day at the Simmons House on Yampa Avenue. No date has been announced for the next one.
Weight Loss Challenge underway
Craig’s Weight Loss Challenge takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Those interested should call for the location and to reserve a spot. Prize money is available.

Fire board meeting rescheduled
The monthly Craig Rural Fire Protection District Board meeting scheduled for Thursday has been moved to April 28. Two fire board members will be out of town and unavailable to meet Thursday, fire officials reported.
The April 28 meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the fire station, 419 Yampa Ave. It is open to the public.
