Senior Spotlight for April 4, 2011

One time while I was in the hospital, the quiet was broken by the sound of laughter. It brought a smile to my face.

As I lay there, I thought, “Thank you, Lord, for bringing a ray of sunshine into a place of uncertainty, pain, and some loneliness.”

There is hope in laughter. It is a sign of belonging and love.

Make someone smile or laugh and enjoy the knowledge that you made someone feel better, if only for a little while. In doing so, you will feel better, too.

I have birthdays this week for Ricky Southard, Ronnie Rogers, Clara Stewart, June Collins, Alfred Trail and Cecil Tabor.

Get well/speedy recovery to Tillie Gallegos, Berniece James, Rose Razzano, Shirley Sharp and Amanda Foote.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 senior dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m. tonight at the post, 419 E. Victory Way.

The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Bingo is at 1 p.m. Join us for bingo, it’s free.

News is always welcome.
