Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide is slated to present ASIST Gatekeeper Training on Oct. 26 and 27 at the Moffat County Public Safety Center, 800 W. First St.
ASIST stands for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
The workshop is designed to give participants knowledge and skills to help them know how to intervene when they fear someone might be at risk for suicide.
Participants will learn to recognize suicide and depression warning signs, apply a model for intervention, and how to link people with community resources.
The workshop lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is free.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. Donations are accepted.
One continuing education credit through Adams State College for the course is available for $55.

Craig AARP meeting to focus on election
Craig AARP Chapter 1418 will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Speakers at the meeting, which is centered on discussing November ballot issues, include Moffat County clerk Elaine Sullivan and lodging tax committee member Dave De Rose.

VNA offices closed today for meeting
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s offices in Craig and Steamboat Springs will be closed today for a staff meeting.
The offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.
OP Bar & Grill to host fundraiser
The OP Bar & Grill, 534 E. Victory Way, will host a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3, complete with a car show, silent auction and spaghetti dinner.
The price of the meal is $7. All proceeds go to Maria Ellis to aid in her recovery following a car accident.
