Kinkaid: Stand up for the future

To the editor:

It’s time for ordinary people like you and me to start taking over as the driving forces of our country and its priorities.

This is our future. Our children and grandchildren’s future.

Today, I am asking for neighbors, community leaders, business leaders and workers to come together next Thursday for a ride to Denver.

The PUC will be holding a public input meeting at 4 p.m. House Bill 1365 will devastate our region. If you think that times are tight now, just wait and see what happens if we don’t flip this poor piece of legislation around.

I can’t stress highly enough how imperative it is to our children’s future to keep these excellent coal mining jobs here in Routt and Moffat counties.

If you have never been active in politics, please get active now. Carpooling and buses will be available.

Let’s get jazzed and say hi to the PUC commissioners on Sept. 23. Buses leave at 10 a.m.

In a respectful and thoughtful manner, it’s time for some “shock and awe.” My phone number is 824-4824.

John Kinkaid
