Miesner: A day to remember

To the editor:

Saturday was Sept. 11, a day that saddened and changed many lives across this country and the world. I would like to thank the businesses and individual residences that chose to honor this day of remembrance and reflection by displaying and or lowering (if able) their flags to half-staff.

It does however, seem such a sad shame that many did not. The Craig Daily Press published the governor’s order Sept. 11. Hello, page 2. Wake up, Craig.

Thank you, Bryce & Team. Way to go for remembering.

I would also like to thank the Bureau of Land Management, Craig Cemetery, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, the U.S. Postal Service, Moffat County Libraries, McDonald’s, Craig Fire/Rescue, Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado Workforce Center, Yampa Valley Bank, First National Bank of the Rockies, The Memorial Hospital, Candlewood Inn & Suites, Deer Park Inn, Walmart, First Congregational Church, the DuPree Bear, Museum of Northwest Colorado, the north Kum & Go, Western Area Power Administration and anyone else who lowered the flag that I forgot to mention.

Prayers and blessings to all those effected by this horrendous tragedy.

We will never forget.

Proud to be a New Yorker, always.

Betty Miesner
