Another pool league session today
The Craig Billiards Congress of America pool league began Sunday at the Popular Bar, 24 W. Victory Way.
There will be another session at 6:30 p.m. today, also at the Popular Bar.

Lodging tax committee to meet
A group aimed at educating and supporting the proposed Craig lodging tax will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Yampa Valley Bank boardroom, 435 N. Mack Lane. The meeting is open to the public.
CNCC to host chili cook-off
The Student Government of Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus is hosting a fundraising chili cook-off this week.
The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday in room 202 at CNCC, 50 College Drive.
Contestants need to provide two gallons of chili.
Prizes will be awarded to the best in each class.
The cost is $15 to enter chili and taste others’ chili or $7 only to sample contestants’ chili.

Community drive to benefit newborns
The student council from Moffat County High School is promoting a community drive to collect necessary items for newborns and their caregivers. The drive began Sunday and continues until Oct. 8.
The student council is asking the community to donate diapers and onesies (for preemies and full-term babies), receiving blankets, caps and bottles.
Drop-off boxes are located in Walgreens, 750 W. Victory Way, and Kmart, 1198 W. Victory Way.
After the items are collected Oct. 8, the student council will deliver them to The Memorial Hospital for distribution to newly discharged mothers and babies.
