Craig Briefs: No Elks bingo this weekend

The Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 62 will not host bingo this weekend due to most of the event volunteers being unavailable. The regular bingo schedule will resume next week.

Food distributions later this month

The United States Department of Agriculture food supplement distributions have been scheduled for later this month.

The Moffat County Department of Social Services will distribute food on the following dates:

• 9 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Maybell Community Center,

• 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the county office in Dinosaur and

• 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 29 at 595 Breeze St., at the northeast alley entrance only.

Certification class scheduled for today

Safe Objectives, a Colorado Springs company, is offering a lead-based paint certification class today at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, 419 E. Victory Way.

The class is all day and breakfast and lunch is included.

The cost is $210.

The class is for janitors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, tile and carpet installers, painters, landlords, contractors, remodelers, and those who work with drywall.

Tai chi demo slated for this Saturday

Mae Jenrich will host a free demonstration of Chen-style tai chi from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the south end of Craig City Park.

Jenrich studied this art in China, and will be teaching tai chi classes this fall.
