When David Peterson was 25, methamphetamine came knocking at his door. Peterson was living in Lake Havasu, Ariz., when several drug dealers came to his house looking for his neighbor. They asked Peterson if he would like to try meth and left him with a bag of the drug.

Whether it’s academics, sports or a busy social life, high school students typically have a lot hanging over their heads. Starting this year, Moffat County High School student council has added one more thing to the list. Suspended nearly 20 feet over the high school’s main lobby is a 15-feet-wide banner that reads: “Every student will graduate.”

Annie’s Mailbox: Workplace affair brings tension

Dear Annie: My married boss is having an affair with one of my co-workers. We work in a very small office with few employees. We have all been here for many years and have become close, but now the tension is unbearable. The affair is the big pink elephant in the room that no one will admit is there. I find what they are doing very unprofessional, and it has created some distrust toward the boss and this co-worker. I think it is affecting everyone’s work performance.
