Craig Briefs: Last day for phone book recycling

First Congregational United Church of Christ, 630 Green St., is serving as a collection point for old phone books to be recycled.
The last day to drop off old books is today.
The phone books can be dropped off anytime in the boxes near the church’s front door.
Libraries closed for Labor Day weekend
All branches of the Moffat County Libraries will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Certification class scheduled at VFW
Safe Objectives, a Colorado Springs company, is offering a lead-based paint certification class Sept. 10 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, 419 E. Victory Way.
The class is all day and breakfast and lunch is included.
The cost is $210.
The class is for janitors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, tile and carpet installers, painters, landlords, contractors, remodelers, or those who work with drywall.

Pool league begins this Tuesday
The American Poolplayers Association league is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mathers’ Club, 420 Yampa Ave.
Interested players can call Michelle at 826-2783, or sign-up at the door.
Boat ramp open through September
The boat ramp at Elkhead Reservoir will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through September.
The lake will officially close Oct. 1, but will remain open to hand-launch vessels.
