Bookstore hosts signing Saturday
Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave., will host a book signing with author Daphne Stroh and her new book “Life’s Other Realm” at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Books will be available during the signing.

Tai chi demo slated for Sept. 11 in Craig
Mae Jenrich will host a free demonstration of Chen-style tai chi from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at the south end of Craig City Park.
Jenrich studied this art in China, and will be teaching tai chi classes this fall.

VNA cholesterol screenings offered
In recognition of National Cholesterol Awareness Month, the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association will offer free cholesterol screenings in September.
Screenings are available by appointment every Tuesday in Steamboat Springs at 940 Central Park Drive, Suit 101, and every Friday, beginning Sept. 10, in Craig at 745 Russell St.

CNCC set to host chili cook-off
The Student Government of Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Craig campus is hosting a fundraising chili cook-off later this month.
The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sept. 18 in room 202 at CNCC, 50 College Drive.
Contestants need to provide two gallons of chili. Prizes will be awarded to the best in each class.
The cost is $15 to enter chili and taste others’ chili, or $7 to only sample contestants’ chili.
