Age: 15, Moffat County High School sophomore

Sport: Diving

How did you get your start in your sport?

“I was a gymnast growing up, and we moved away for a few years, and when we came back to Craig, due to the commitment involved in gymnastics, I ended up picking diving instead, just to try it out, and ended up really liking it.”

What is it you enjoy about your sport?

“It’s just so much different than any other sport, and I can just enjoy it.”

What kind of strengths do you bring to the team?

“Not being afraid to hit the water. I don’t really feel it anymore, and I can get up and shake it off.”

What do you like about your team?

“I like how close everybody is. Sometimes a team’s so big that you don’t get to hang out with everyone.”

How have your coaches helped you this season?

“They’ve really worked on what we need to do. They’ve done whatever they can to help and be supportive”

What is one thing about your team that an outsider wouldn’t know?

“We have a different kind of bonding. Being in the water is different than a team sport like basketball. We rely on everyone here, and it’s not just everyone going for the win. If someone’s not doing great, you don’t get on their back, you just hope that everybody does well.”
