Upcoming banquet to include dinner, auctions
Ducks Unlimited will host a banquet Dec. 5 at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colo. Hwy. 13. Social hour and games will begin at 4 p.m., with dinner slated for 6 p.m. A live and silent auction will follow.
Items up for auction include several guns, a Labrador puppy, a sporting clay shoot for four people, art and gift items.

Salvation Army seeking volunteer bell ringers
The Salvation Army’s Craig Service Extension Unit is looking for as many as 100 people to volunteer as bell ringers this holiday season. The annual kettle drive begins Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
The Salvation Army is hoping to have three kettles — outside City Market, Walmart and Kmart. Half- or full-day shifts are available. Hours for a full shift are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trash pickups to be done in advance
The city of Craig Solid Waste Department will not provide residential trash service on Thursday and Friday.
The pickup schedule will be rearranged temporarily to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday, with pickups done in advance throughout the week.
Monday and Tuesday’s pickups will be done Monday, and Wednesday and Thursday’s pickups Tuesday. Friday’s pickups will be on Wednesday.

Next Craig Coffee Party meeting Saturday
The Craig Coffee Party is scheduled to meet from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the back room at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. A topic of discussion will be the Nov. 2 general election.
Anyone is welcome to attend.

Libraries closed beginning Nov. 25
All branches of the Moffat County Libraries will be closed Thursday through Sunday in observance of Thanksgiving. All branches will reopen Nov. 29.
