With the state track and field meet beginning on Thursday in Denver, Moffat County High School will be well represented.
The team qualified seven individuals spanning 11 events and two relay teams to compete from Thursday to Saturday.
Alfredo Lebron qualified for the 1600- and 3200-meter runs.
The sophomore is ranked 14th in class 4A for the 1600-meters and eighth in the 3200-meters.
Senior Jasen Kettle, running track for the first season, qualified in the 200-meter dash with a 15-th ranking.
Sophomore Johnny Landa qualified for state in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:10.83, which was good for 17th.
Brian Ivy has MCHS’ only No. 1 ranking, which is in the triple jump.
Ivy, a senior, has a 4A-leading triple jump of 45’10”.
Ivy also has the No. 14 ranking in the long jump.
The boys four-by-200-meter relay team is ranked 15th, while the boys four-by-800-meter relay team holds the third spot.
Junior Lauren Roberts is ranked ninth in the long jump, with a distance of 16 feet and nine inches.
Senior Lindsey Yoast made the cut in the discus, with an 11th-place ranking and distance of 110 feet and nine inches.
Maddy Jourgensen qualified for three events.
The junior is ranked 11th in the 800-meter run, fourth in the 1600-meters and fifth in the 3200-meters.
