MCHS girls golf claims regionals

Team will play at state May 24 and 25

Playing Tuesday at home, the Moffat County High School girls varsity golf team was able to claim first at the regional tournament, which was at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

The team shot a combined 276, which edged out Rifle by 12 strokes.

Heather Nicholson was first overall, after winning a one-hole playoff match with Rifle’s Taylor Walters.

Nicholson shot 83 through the first 18 holes.

The MCHS team of Callie Papoulas, Nike Cleverly, Makayla Camilletti and Heather Nicholson will play at the May 24 and 25 state meet in Montrose.

Yahoo Girls!!!! Is this the first for Moffat County to take regionals in golf for the girls? Now lets go get state! :) and really put Moffat County on the map.
