Replacement census forms, help still available

Replacement census forms are available at the Census Assistance Centers for residents who did not receive a form or received a damaged form.

The blank forms are located at the two assistance centers: Moffat County Social Services, 595 Breeze St. and the Moffat County School District administration building, 775 Yampa Ave.

The forms are available in English and Spanish and are free to residents who have not returned a census form yet.

Census spokeswoman Deborah Cameron said all Moffat County forms should have been delivered as of last week.

If residents did not receive a form, Cameron is encouraging residents to call 1-866-872-6868 after April 12 to receive a replacement form with a barcode specific to their address.

“We want them to wait because we want them to have access to a form with a geocode on it,” Cameron said. “That is the best way to insure you don’t have a follow-up census employee visit your home after May 1.”

Census workers will return to residents in May who did not mail their census form back. They will ask residents for a few minutes of their time, be able to help them fill out paperwork and also address any questions.

The Craig-Moffat County Complete Count Committee also is available to answer residents’ questions regarding the census at the two stations set up in Craig.

The Social Services building is open from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and the Moffat County School District administration building is open from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Positions still are available to work for the census, and wages start at $12.50 per hour.

The Craig branch of Moffat County Libraries will host hiring sessions at 1 p.m. Saturdays and 5 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Colorado Workforce Center in Craig also will have hiring sessions at 1:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
