- The Craig Kiwanis Club has 2010 scholarships available, the club announced Monday in a news release. This year, the club expects to award about $9,500 in scholarships to Moffat County High School graduates.

- Despite dropping its first game, the Moffat County High School boys varsity baseball team was able to win its last two games of the Friday and Saturday Lloyd McMillan baseball tournament in Montrose. The team finished in fifth. The Bulldogs lost their first game, 11-7, Friday to Emery (Utah) High School.

- For Moffat County High School golfers Parker King and Mark Dockstader, golf season can’t come soon enough. While Yampa Valley Golf Course is not yet open and will not be open until the snow is gone, King and Dockstader spent some of their spring break clearing off sections of the course to try and move the course’s start date up.

- The Colorado Division of Wildlife has begun its five-year review of statewide fishing regulations and is looking for input from anglers and sportsmen organizations. DOW spokesman Randy Hampton said the review process is designed to include local input as the first step because the DOW values the voice of the sportsmen who support and fund the agency.
