Mark and Pam Zummach reopened a restaurant in Maybell in August 2009.
Lou’s is open for business from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Mondays.
The menu includes homestyle cooking, such as shrimp specials, chicken fried steak, hickory burgers and, in addition, breakfast is available all day.
The restaurant frequently has specials that start at noon until the product is gone.
The most unique thing about this restaurant is that its serves all of its burgers and sandwiches on Texas Toast.
This apparently happened by mistake, Pam said. She ran out of hamburger buns one day during hunting season and had to use Texas Toast.
Because the Texas Toast was so popular, she doesn’t serve hamburger buns now.
You can visit Lou’s at the Maybell location, 60211 W. U.S. Highway 40, or call 272-3019.
New retail store
Mountain Range Mechanical has opened a retail store for pressure washers in the old Catoor building next to Murdoch’s in Craig.
Aaladin pressure washers are the product line offered. Aaladin is a 30-year-old company, Mountain Range Mechanical owner Dan Johnson said.
These products are “definitely the top of the line,” American-made products out of South Dakota, he said.
The store offers sales and service on these products for new and used machines, parts, sales, rentals, service and detergents. Also offered is everything from handheld pressure washers to larger pressure washers that are used at the coal mines, from two gallons per minute to 12 gallons per minute.
The store covers a territory from Silverthorne to Heber City, Utah, and from Delta to half of Wyoming.
The store is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 2355 W. Victory Way.
Customers also may call 824-7874. You also can learn more about the store’s product line at www.aaladin.com.
