To the editor:
Flash back to 1989, when an Iowa corn farmer heeds a mysterious voice that instructs, “If you build it, he will come.” The farmer then cuts a baseball diamond in his cornfield.
It’s all about chasing a dream and celebrating the mythic lure of baseball.
Fast forward to December 2009, when a similar voice was heard that suggested, “If you serve lunch on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and dinner on Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., they will come.”
It, too, is all about chasing a dream and celebrating the not-so-mythic lure of good food.
We at St. Michael’s Kitchen would like to thank you for your kindness and generosity of spirit and wallet, and we invite everyone to come to St. Michael’s Kitchen and experience for yourselves the celebration of camaraderie, fellowship and, of course, good food.
