Angie Charchalis, a 2008 Moffat County High School graduate, was recently named to the All-East basketball division’s second team.
Charchalis averaged 11.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 28 games for the Colorado School of Mines girls basketball team.
She scored in double figures in 21 of the Orediggers 28 games and was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s player of the week in February.
Charchalis ranked eighth in the RMAC with 1.8 3-pointers made per game, as the college sophomore made 51 3-pointers on the season.
The 51 3-pointers are second in Orediggers women’s history.
Charchalis was joined on the second team by teammate Emily Dalton, an Arvada West High School graduate, who scored 11.7 points per game.
Teammate Brecca Gaffney, a 6-foot-1 forward from Greeley, was named to the first team.
Gaffney tied Charchalis for second in scoring with 11.2 points per game, and led the team with 9.3 rebounds per game.
Charchalis, Gaffney and Dalton helped lead the Orediggers to a 20-8 overall record and a 14-5 mark in the RMAC.
The 20 wins set a new school record, and the 14 RMAC victories tied a team record.
