March is a good time to think of spring cleaning. Getting ready for new beginnings and the promise that spring brings. Although spring comes officially this month on the calendar, I always say it’s not going to quit snowing until after Easter, which is in April this year. So don’t put your winter clothes away yet.
Along with the new beginnings come endings — the end of winter, the end of Mountain Standard Time and sadly, the end of a family era for my family in the loss of my son-in-law. Roy Franklin Southard was a Craigite from way back and will be remembered by quite a few folks that he helped and by those he knew while running the Cork and Bottle Shop here in Craig. A memorial fund is set up to help with funeral expenses at Bank of the West.
We also want to remember those with birthdays, Elsie Chase, Stella Johnson, Lavene Smith, Hal Glanville and Cecil Tabor.
Get well wishes go out to Candice Mercer, Stephanie Hansen, Mary Deathridge, Jerry Ide and Dan Piper.
Don’t forget to order your daffodils to support Hospice. Call me and I’ll get them ordered for you. Also call me at 824-2139 and let me know any news. See you at senior potluck at noon Friday at Sunset Meadows I.
