A Special Olympics parent and coaches meeting is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Moffat County School District administration building, 775 Yampa Ave.
The meeting is for anyone interested in having their child participate in the games, or for anyone interested in possibly coaching a team.

Blood donations needed during drive
A Craig community blood drive is scheduled for 12:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.
According to a news release, only 4 percent of Colorado residents donate blood, and donations decrease by up to 20 percent in the summer, while the need for blood “remains constant.”
Those interested in donating blood are encouraged to eat a full meal and drink plenty of water before donating. Walk-ins are welcome.
Humane Society hosting fundraiser
The third annual Bone Appetit BBQ, a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Moffat County, is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at the OP
Bar & Grill.
There will be food, family fun, door prizes and silent auction items.
“An enjoyable evening on the best patio in Northwest Colorado,” organizers described the event in a news release.
Tickets are $25 per person or $48 for a couple. Tickets are $10 for children under 12.

Health care expert to present in Craig
The Craig Chamber of Commerce has invited Elizabeth Arenales, a health care expert and attorney with the Colorado Center of Law and Policy, to speak with the public about the effects of health care reform, the implementation timeline and what it means for businesses.
The presentation is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Craig City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St.
