To the editor:
On behalf of the Bureau of Land Management, I would like to thank all of the volunteers who donated their time and energy for our recent National Public Lands Day event June 6 near Dinosaur.
The volunteers cleaned up more than 5,000 pounds of illegally dumped residential trash from public lands.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Benny Luhan, S. Toby Cortex, Craig Donahoe, Vickie Donahoe, April Donahoe, Boyd Millsaps, Freda Powell, Billy Richards, Tiffany Smith, Amber Billings, Estella Billings, Robert Essex, Dale Long, Tamara Long, Trevor Long, Jim Gate, Ryan Wilczek, Richard Blakley, Lando Blakley, Philina Clegg, Ali Gregersen, Keith Baily, Kim Smithy, Dillon Geitz, Austin Geitz, Adam Garcia, Karen Sandoval and Jeremy Hinkle.
Based on the services provided by these volunteers, the BLM estimates a savings to tax payers of an estimated $50,000 to complete this project.
I just wanted to extend a big thanks to all of the volunteers who assisted with this clean-up.
