8 a.m. Wood carvers begin carving at the Whittle the Wood Rendezvous at Craig City Park. The public is welcome to watch the sculptures take shape.

8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Senior swimnastics takes place at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

9 to 11 a.m. Playgroup for toddler/preschool children takes place at Loudy-Simpson Park, weather permitting. Call Kevin at 824-1703 or Ann at 826-2717.

1 to 8 p.m. The Craig Pool Complex is open for swimming. The cost is $4 for adults 18 and older; $3.25 for swimmers 12 to 17; $3 for swimmers 4 to 11; and swimmers 3 and under and 55 and older swim for free. Call the pool at 824-3015.

3:30 to 7 p.m. Open swimming takes place at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

5 p.m. The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, hosts bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin at 6:15 p.m. Call Frank at 824-6131 or 620-0874.

7 p.m. The Moffat County tea party hosts a local candidate forum at American Legion Post 62, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call Billie Jacobs at 824-0339.

7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at 1150 W. Ninth St. The group is designed to help people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups. Childcare is provided, and late-comers are welcome. Call 824-5926.

Saturday, June 19

10 a.m. The Colorado State High School Rodeo finals take place at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way. The event is open to the public.

Noon. Arts, crafts and food vendors are open at Craig City Park as part of the 11th annual Whittle the Wood Rendezvous. Silent auction for woodcarvings begins. The event is open to the public.

1 p.m. A quick-carve contest, in which Whittle the Wood Rendezvous competitors carve a stump in one hour, is at Craig City Park. A live auction of the creations follows. The event is open to the public.
