A quick-carve contest has been added to the Whittle the Wood Rendezvous lineup for this weekend.
The contest will place this year’s 12 competitors against each other in a one-hour contest to carve a stump while an audience watches.
The contest begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at Craig City Park. The creations will be auctioned off immediately following the conclusion of the contest.
Wanda Walker to make presentation
The Preserving the Last Frontier organization will host its monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. June 26 in the second-floor conference room at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.
Wanda Walker is scheduled to discuss her life in Browns Park. The meeting is open to the public.

Health care expert to speak in Craig
The Craig Chamber of Commerce has invited Elizabeth Arenales, a health care expert and attorney with the Colorado Center of Law and Policy, to speak with the public about the effects of health care reform, the implementation timeline and what it means for businesses.
The presentation is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 23 at Craig City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St.

Elks hosting sale July 10 and 11
The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, will host an indoor yard sale with an open snack bar July 10 and 11.
Anyone with items to sell can get a table for $5 (the fee for Elks Lodge members) or $10 (the fee for non members).
Items to sell can range from baked goods, crafts or simply “stuff you want to get rid of,” according to a news release.
