- Yoshira Basturo and Andres Medina, of Craig, announce the birth of their daughter, Yaretzi Yize Medina, at 3:04 p.m. May 30, 2010, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Carolina Basturo Vazquez, of Veracruz, Mexico, and Jose Foo Martinez Nunez, of Guadalajara, Mexico. Paternal grandparents are Ana Maria Cepeda Lopez, of Torreon, Mexico, and Juan Andres Medina Cervantes, of Torreon, Mexico. The baby was welcomed home by her big sister, Nashaly Medina, and beloved family and friends.

- Fifteen teams participated Saturday in the 23rd annual Moffat County Sheriff’s Office Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, an event that raises money for graduating high school seniors. This year’s tournament was dedicated to the men and women of the U.S. military, and was hosted at Yampa Valley Golf Course.
