Enjoying the fellowship: Social event brings Craig hearing-impaired community together

It isn’t always easy bringing Northwest Colorado’s deaf and hearing-impaired community together, advocates said, but a social event Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Craig sought to overcome that obstacle. The second annual Northwestern Deaf Social took place in the church’s basement, and drew about 50 people, 15 of whom were deaf.

Former Craig detective to be sentenced

Ken Johnson faces up to 60 days in jail as part of plea deal

Ken Johnson, a former Craig Police Department detective, is scheduled for sentencing at 1 p.m. Tuesday in front of judge Shelley Hill in Moffat County District Court. Johnson, who was also a member of the All Crimes Enforcement Team task force, pleaded guilty in April to attempting to influence a public servant, a Class 4 felony.
