Sports Briefs: Junior golf open to Craig youth

Yampa Valley Golf Course hosting annual camp next week

Yampa Valley Golf Course will again host its annual Junior Golf Camp for youths 4 to 17 next week.

The camp is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday at the golf course, 2179 Highway 394.

Participants will be divided into three age groups, and there is a $40 fee for participants.

Ann Marie Roberts, Yampa Valley’s LPGA golf professional, will instruct the young golfers.

The first two days of the camp are scheduled for instruction and lessons, and the third day will feature a scramble tournament and lunch.

Sheriff’s golf tourney scheduled for Saturday

The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

The cost to enter is $40 per player, and non-members must also pay a green’s fee.

Proceeds will benefit Moffat County High School graduates pursuing higher education.

Hockey association meeting Monday

The Craig Youth Hockey Association is scheduled to host its executive board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

There will be an open meeting at 6:30 p.m. to discuss new business.

The meeting is open to the public.
