The Yampa River Junior Golf Classic will tee off at 8 a.m. today, as more than 50 golfers ages 6 to 17 will hit the greens at Yampa Valley Golf Course.
The first tee time will be at 8 a.m. for 13- to 17-year-old golfers.
The 13- to 17-year-olds will compete in 18 holes of golf.
The next tee time will be at 8:45 a.m. for the 10- to 12-year-olds, who will golf nine holes.
At 10 a.m., the 7- to 9-year-olds will tee off and play four holes.
After the 7- to 9-year-olds are finished, the golfers age 6 and younger will tee off and play three holes.
Pro shop employee Amber Nicholson, herself a veteran of the Junior Classic, said the tournament has one goal.
