Football registration deadline is today

Craig Parks and Recreation is currently taking registrations for Doak Walker tackle football.

The program is for boys and girls in third through sixth grades.

The deadline to register is today.

The fee for players is $50.

The official weigh-in and equipment sign-out for players in the third- and fourth-grade league is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Craig City Hall, 300 W. 4th St.

Weigh-in and equipment sign-out for the fifth- and sixth-grade league is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, also at City Hall.

Area church set to host Bible school

St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St., is hosting vacation Bible school, with the theme Son Harvest County Fair, from 8:30 a.m. to noon beginning today and running through Friday.

Today is silly hat day, Tuesday features a free lunch and Friday will include slip-and-slide fun.

The cost is $10 per child or $25 per household.

Aug. 3 forum set at Centennial Mall

The Craig Daily Press and KRAI are teaming up to host a candidate forum next month for local, state and congressional candidates seeking public office in November.

The candidate forum, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3, a week before the Aug. 10 primary election, outside the radio station’s office at Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.
