St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St., hosts vacation Bible school, with the theme Son Harvest County Fair, from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through July 30.

Monday is silly hat day, Tuesday features a free lunch and Friday will include slip-and-slide fun.

The cost is $10 per child or $25 per household.

Coffee party set to meet Saturday

The Craig coffee party is scheduled to meet from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss politics and build a better understanding of issues.

Deadline for New York trip is Aug. 1

The trip deposit deadline is nearing for Colorado Northwestern Community College’s Lifelong Learning Adventure to New York City.

The trip is scheduled for Nov. 11 to 15 with flights out of and in to Yampa Valley Regional Airport.

The cost is $2,150, or $2,025 for Colorado residents older than 62 and $1,900 for Moffat County residents older than 62.

The fee includes transportation from CNCC-Craig Campus, four nights lodging, four full breakfasts, three dinners and one luncheon, admission to the United Nations, Lincoln Center with “Meet a Star” program, Ellis Island, Manhattan, NBC Studios, Brooklyn and orchestra or first mezzanine seating to a Broadway musical.

A trip deposit of $600 is due by Aug. 1.

Candidate forum set for Aug. 3

The Craig Daily Press and KRAI are teaming up to host a candidate forum next month for local, state and congressional candidates seeking public office in November.

The candidate forum, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3, a week before the Aug. 10 primary election, outside the radio station’s office at Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.
