Francisco Reina, a retired soccer coach, is offering free soccer lessons for players ages 2 and older.
The goal, Reina said, is to eventually form a soccer team in Craig.
Reina said he would teach the basics and help give players a better understanding of the game.
“There are a lot of good athletes here in Craig,” he said. “I think that we could have some very competitive soccer players.”
Reina, who came to America from Spain in 1976, said the best thing a player can have is a coach who allows the player freedom to evolve.
“Sometimes coaches put too much pressure on the players and that leads to mistakes,” he said. “I coach in a way that I work with the individual players.”
Times are flexible, so any schedule can be arranged. Adult supervision is required for minors.
For more information, call Reina at 826-9724.

News this week showed snowpack in the Yampa River basin has reached 94 percent of median for the date. Do you think Moffat County is out of the woods as far as drought concerns?
