Kuddos. They are coming for the guns and they want to know where they are. Did you read in the Sun, the Las Vegas newspaper, that they arrested all the executives at the gun and hunter show in Vegas on Monday, including the VP of Smith & Wesson.

Apparently they broke some sort of international treaty.

These are the ten questions on the Census — I don't see anything about owning guns:
The 2010 Census form is just 10 questions, such as:

•Name
•Sex
•Age
•Date of birth
•Hispanic origin
•Race
•Household relationship
•If you own or rent

Also, the executives were involved in a Sting operation by the FBI ” executives and employees of military and law enforcement products companies who were indicted for engaging in schemes to bribe foreign government officials to obtain and retain business, the Justice Department announced today.”

Ah yes. I suppose just in case the government, as it was said, “is coming for the guns”. Despite what people may think, Obama and the democrats singlehandedly cannot disband the second amendment. The census is simply a way for the government, regardless of political views, to get a nation wide view on our society, whether its the distribution of age, sex, race, or religion. Saying this is a government conspiracy is simply ludicrous.

If the VP of smith and wesson broke inetranational gun sales laws then he should pay the price, just like if I bought or sold guns illegally. Or was bribing a government official.

What I would like to know is why is there so much emphasis on “Hispanic Origin”, or for that matter anything and everything to do with being Hispanic, in the census form. Where's the emphasis on German, Italian, or Japanese?

WalMart might be using this information to regulate inventory in their stores.

We do not need a lot of German clothing and food on the Walmart shelf when there are so many Hispanic customers.

I just looked at the website Jennifer sent and I see nothing about guns or meds. There does seem to be a lot of interest in whether or not your Mexican, but then offers you choices on many different nationalities too.
It's pretty simple and should take very little time to complete.
I'm just wondering why tho, if they are mailing this out, will the government then pay to have people go around and ask questions too or am I misunderstanding that part???

Please, folks, go to the website, http://2010.census.gov, and click on the preview link on the home page. It will preview the form in its entirety and allow you to see all the questions asked. You can click on each question in the website and see the reason the question is being asked. Nowhere does it ask about guns or meds or bank accounts or credit cards. If someone comes to your door and asks questions like that, the person asking them is not a Census employee and you need to close the door and call the police as that person is attempting to defraud you. You can also ask the person to show you their Census i.d. The information being asked for on the survey is in the public domain or can be googled. And before you ask, the reason for the census is two-fold: 1) because the Constitution, Article 1, Section 2, mandates that once every ten years every person in the United States is counted so we know what our population is, and 2) every ten years, information about our population is updated and brought current in one central database.
The Census survey is being mailed to the majority of the country, but there are a number of areas in the country that will get theirs hand-delivered, and Northwest Colorado is one of those areas. For Moffat County, specifically, we are rural, we are hard to reach, many of our residents have p.o. boxes, some of our residents aren't here year-round, and our roads and the weather make mail delivery difficult. To make sure every household in the county gets a survey in a timely manner, Census takers will be delivering the surveys to every doorknob in the county starting the beginning of March. It's short, it's quick, and it's postage-paid to mail it back. If it's not mailed back, the census takers will go out again and do personal interviews. And BTW, census takers are not part of the stimulus program. The 2010 Census has been being planned for and organised since after the 2000 Census, and hiring census takers to do follow-up was part of the plan before President Obama was elected.

I am still confused about what the United States Government is trying to accomplish with all of the Hispanic differentiation of nationality. Maybe the first question on the census should be
1.) Are you currently a legal resident of the United States of America? If Yes, Complete Form, If No, please disregard this form.
I do not understand why there are 5 versions of Hispanics, 3 African Americans and only 1 white. Not Caucasian or European American, but White.
I do like GreyStone's Comment regarding the job stimulus program. Apparently Moffat County was selected to have all the census surveys hand delivered to our homes. When are they planning on handing out all the census surveys. It will probably be during the day on weekdays when most of the hard working constituents are either at work or sleeping from their night shift.
