- Tara Fenstermacher and Shane Burum, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Jackson Nicholas Burum, at 9:36 p.m. Jan. 14, 2010, at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. Grandparents are Julie Camp, of Craig, and Cindy and Ken Walters, of Aurora. The baby was welcomed home by a sibling, Jorja Lyn Burum.
- Flor and Roberto Holguin, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Josue Roberto Holguin, at 1:48 p.m. Jan. 15, 2010, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Jesus Duarte and Carmen Chavez, of Mexico. Paternal grandparents are Roberto Holguin and Soledad Vitolas, of Mexico. The baby was welcomed home by Roberto, Flor and Cristal.
- Katie Roof and Dylan Forrest, of Steamboat Springs, announce the birth of their son, Milo Leroy Forrest Roof, at 8:46 a.m. Jan. 18, 2010, at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Karen and Doug Roof, of Hockessin, Del., and Arlene and Brad Forrest, of Edina, Minn.

- Staker family recovering after losing home in fire

- A scorched safe, twisted pipes and a melted plastic dog kennel surround the remains of Devin and Susan Staker’s home. The Staker house, a log home near Moffat County Road 15, burned Jan. 16 after catching fire from an unknown source. The structure, rented to the Stakers by Lou Wyman, was destroyed in the blaze, as was everything inside.

Playing at 6 p.m. today, the Bulldogs (6-8 overall, 4-1 in Western Slope League play) will renew their rivalry with Steamboat Springs (10-4 overall, 5-1 in the WSL) in Steamboat.
