Craig briefs: Thunder Rolls hosts fundraiser today

Logan Morrison, 6, of Hayden, was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma in December 2009. He is currently in Denver undergoing chemotherapy. Extended family members helped organize a fundraiser tonight at Thunder Rolls Bowling Center in Craig to help the Morrisons with mounting expenses.

Starting at 6 p.m., there will be door prizes, snacks and specials at Thunder Rolls, 990 Industrial Ave. A $20 special includes three bowling games, shoes and prizes.

Thunder Rolls also will auction several items for attendees who do not want to bowl. The auction will begin at 7 p.m.

SHARE Craig’s Food Distribution Day is scheduled for today.

Orders may be picked up between 1 and 2 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St.

Group discussion to focus on chapters

The God Delusion/Reason for God discussion group meets at 4 p.m. Sunday at McDonald’s in Craig.

For the remainder of January and throughout February, the group will discuss “The Reason for God” chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Copies of the book are available at the discussion.

AARP to hear about local census efforts

Craig AARP Chapter No. 1418 is scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.

Ray Beck, the Moffat County Complete Count Committee chairman, will present a program regarding the 2010 U.S. Census. AARP members also are encouraged to remember the club’s annual food drive.
