- Every once in a while, Rick Bustad will drive his power chair outside into the crisp, winter air. He’ll visit Cook Chevrolet, where he used to do bodywork on cars, or he’ll go to the convenience store. On those rides down the sidewalks, he said he sometimes likes to put his chair into high gear and feel the dry wind on his face, pretending he’s still riding his Harley-Davidson around winding mountain roads.

- Craig briefs: Thunder Rolls hosts fundraiser today

- Logan Morrison, 6, of Hayden, was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma in December 2009. He is currently in Denver undergoing chemotherapy. Extended family members helped organize a fundraiser tonight at Thunder Rolls Bowling Center in Craig to help the Morrisons with mounting expenses.

- Cookies, cupcakes and pies filled tables Friday outside of City Market as Craig resident Karen Sakran embarked on her goal to help a group of people half a world away. The sale’s profits were Sakran’s contribution to philanthropic endeavors to help the people of Haiti after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that devastated and shook the nation Jan. 12.

- With their feet planted squarely on pieces of tape on the gym floor Thursday morning, 20 Sunset Elementary School first-graders were ready for one final rehearsal. The students were preparing for Friday’s dance performance, when their parents would line the walls of the gym with video cameras attached to their hands to watch their children perform.
