Moffat County Jail Friday, Jan. 15 Tom Lee Murrah, 48, of Craig, was booked into Moffat County Jail on a court order. Julie Ann Pierce, 28, of Craig, was booked into Moffat County Jail on a warrant for possession of marijuana. Wesley Paul Kline, 46, of Craig, was booked into Moffat County Jail on suspicion of shoplifting.
Depleted girls swimming takes 15th at Jeffco Invite

Despite having only nine swimmers, the Moffat County High School girls varsity swim team managed to place 15th out of 21 teams at the competitive Jeffco Invite on Jan. 16. Coach Anita Reynolds said because of the limited number of girls competing, she had to shuffle her lineup for the relays.

I would like to comment on the political cartoon in Saturday’s paper showing the devastation in Haiti. The idea that the cartoon seems to promote is that God is to blame for the earthquake and all the devastation (entitled “ACT OF GOD”) and that all the good credit goes to those helping the victims (entitled “ACT OF HUMANITY.”)

On Wednesday night, local water attorney Tom Sharp will explain another long-view idea, his Yampa Doctrine, at a meeting of the Yampa/White River Basin Roundtable in Craig. The roundtable is a group of regional water experts and river users that works with state officials to guide long-term water policy.
