Don and Misty Jones can be seen year after year dancing the night away at Diamonds & Spurs, the Craig Rotary Club’s annual formal fundraiser.

This year will be no different.

Don said he wants to support the Rotary Club and take advantage of a rare opportunity to dress up and spend a night out with his wife.

“I think it’s the atmosphere, the food and the social gathering, to put it short,” he said. “It’s a way for people to get out and enjoy friends and kick up their heels.”

The Diamonds & Spurs dinner and dancing event begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.

Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and then dancing with a variety of music provided by a disc jockey. The event runs “’till whenever everyone goes home,” Rotary Club President Cole White said.

“It’s that time of the year to go out, shake the winter blues off, dance all night, mingle with other community members and get a really good dinner,” White said.

Tickets to the event are $60 each, but “we just have a handful of tickets left,” he said.

One table still is available for purchase, which comes with a bottle of wine.

The event benefits the Rotary Club’s high school and nursing student scholarship programs.

“It helps send some of our brightest young students off to college with some dollars in their pockets,” White said of the event.

Brother’s Custom Processing will cater Saturday’s dinner, which will include carved prime rib, grilled salmon and chicken, as well as appetizers, vegetables, salad and a dessert spread.

A cash bar will be available. The event is limited to those who are 21 and older.

The event also includes a raffle that will include a necklace from Kester Jewelry valued at $1,000, a faucet and microwave from Intermountain Appliance and a gift certificate to Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply.

Raffle tickets are $10 each.

White said he is looking forward to seeing many familiar faces Saturday night.

“We get a lot of the same people year to year to year,” he said. “We are always thankful for those people who support us year after year.”

Tickets to Diamonds & Spurs are available through Friday or until they sell out by calling Randy Looper at 826-4444.
