Bulldogs girls improve to 2-0 in Western Slope League

— The Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team improved to 2-0 in Western Slope League play with a 55-26 victory against the Battle Mountain Huskies.

Amanda Snyder had 13 points in the effort.

At halftime, the Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team was ahead, 27-13. And the team built a 44-18 lead against the Huskies after three quarters.

The boys, who outlasted the Devils, 65-64, on Friday night, will play Battle Mountain at 5:30 p.m. today, also at MCHS.

Moffat County opened league play with dramatic wins against Eagle Valley on Friday.

For the girls (4-6 overall, 2-0 in the Western Slope League) senior Lindsey Yoast scored six of her nine points in the fourth quarter to overtake the Devils.

The boys (3-6 overall, 1-0 in the WSL) were led by junior Dylon Camilletti and his 24 points.

Battle Mountain’s girls team (0-10 overall) lost Friday night to Steamboat Springs High School.

Battle Mountain’s boys team also fell to the Sailors, 55-43, to drop them to 4-3 overall.
