To the editor:
We wish to express, as best we can, our appreciation to the Craig community, in general, and a few businesses and individuals, specifically, for their prayers and tangible support thus far in our battle against Cheri’s second bout with Stage 4 breast cancer.
A number of congregations in Craig and the surrounding areas have been faithful in prayer and intercession, and their obedience to a loving God’s provision for those not born into this community will surely be rewarded.
Our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has graciously provided us the basic provisions of food, clothing and shelter, along with many spiritual blessings.
As a means for doing this, he has employed the following list of people, plus some I have inadvertently omitted:
Willie and Kathy Harkner, Dr. Joel Miller and staff, Dr. Allen Cohn and the chemo department at Yampa Valley Medical Center, Stacey Rosenthal and The Memorial Hospital in Craig, the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association in Craig, Jan Fritz and the Yampa Valley Cancer Society, Karen Brown and her crew, Wayne Davis, Kelly Hepworth, Chris Miller and family, One Hour Photo, Craig John and CJ Doane, the staff at Ferrell Gas in Steamboat Springs, and Phyliss Moore and Leroy North.
Thank you one and all.
As our faith grows and is tested by this ordeal, we hope to be used by God to mentor others in this community and beyond who are suffering under similar circumstances.
In closing, we feel compelled to add a note of warning to women and men: please perform self-exams regularly, listen to your body and demand mammograms and other tests you deem necessary.
Carl and Cheri Race
